Hello faithful seven! How was your day? Mine was eventful.
I found caveman drawings in one of my cubbies, had a kid steal food straight off someone's plate, a crayon inflicted injury and two dramatic break downs.
Is it May yet? I literally turned bright red and got so hot while talking about school tonight with a friend. I have no doubt thy my blood pressure was up at just the thought of work!
I am genuinely excited about tomorrow though. It's Dr. Susses' birthday so I have fun activities planned that should be fun!
And I mean the fact that its Friday doesn't hurt either!
I spent the night with my very first friend ,
Lindsey. That crazy is leaving tomorrow to teach English in South America for nine months. Are you kidding me? She'll succeed like always! Maybe I Shiism go with her, it's like I'm talking a different language to my students anyways!
Today's Pockets:
A love letter: caught nuggets passing this, obviously they'll be together forever.
Food coloring: what, don't you dye your pudding?
Tickets: bribeeeee
Markers/caps: blah blah
50 cents: that coke machine better watch out.
Marbles: yellow table wins again.
Flowers: gifts.

Shots shots shots...
Half a day with the nuggets still felt like a full 8 hours with them! I'm not too sure how that works. We did make some pretty amazing school buses though for our bulletin board!
My immune system was not built for this job. I can't stay healthy! The week of Mardi Gras I was in Urgent Care with a sore throat and now I'm back at the doctor's with the same thing. I might have added high blood pressure to the list now too! This year is trying to kill me.
Fast forward thru time..
I'm walking away with antibiotics, lower self esteem from seeing my weight and a shot. My blood pressure was back at a normal reading. So school really probably does have an affect on it. Too bad there isn't a shot for that...well there is but it's not allowed on school property. Ha! I made a funny!
I just want to be healthy and make it to May without any major damages!
Today's Pockets:
Marbles: more were in my pocket than in the table jars
Flowers: because in the mists of a fire drill its completely logical to stop and pick flowers
Quarter: balllllllin
Post it: with my high blood pressure

Under-why?!
Your underwire breaking should be considered a justified reason to go home! I spent the entire day getting stabbed in the rib and had to suffer in silence.
Yet another life mystery I'd like to ponder today. Why is fingernail polish so stubborn? It always peels off easily of every finger...but one! Why must my thumb betray me? Pulling out the fingernail polish isn't impossible but it most certainly is annoying!
All of my frantic five were present today and they were alive as ever. It amazes me how some nuggets just don't care. No matter my efforts, it doesn't phase them. I could dress as a fairy, tell them I'm giving them magical powers and a pony and it still wouldn't change their behavior. Well maybe for a pony, I might have to try that tactic!
Tomorrow is a half day! Praise Him! I mean I still have to stay the entire day, but I don't have to deal with nap time!
It's a short blog today because my nerd is showing. I just bought three new books, despite the disapproving looks from my teacher soulmate, and they aren't going to read themselves!
Today's pockets:
Marbles: not sure if they are working
Name tag: because a nugget was trying to use it as a weapon
Writing utensils: for obvious reasons
Flowers: picked with love by a nugget
Sticker: spat from the mouth of one

Do you have an umbrella I could borrow?
As I sit here, eating Mega Stuffed Oreos, wishing myself thin; I am trying to figure out the mystery of Walmart. It's a discount store, things are cheap there and yet I still come out with an 88 dollar bill. This time I only bought 3 movies, and they were all on sale! It's food that cost so much money. I should eat less, it would benefit my jeans and their pockets!
One of my frantic five was absent today. I've decided on the name of frantic five for my five nuggets who make me want to pull a Britney. I know some of you aren't as pop-culture educated as I so I shall explain for those of you who lived under a rock in 2007. Britney Spears, one of my idols, went bonkers in 2007, she shaved her head and then beat people with an umbrella. At this point in my career I can honestly say that I could see how this could be a reasonable reaction to life.
And today wasn't even horrible. I'm just feeling so run down, like my nuggets could literally take me hostage, force feed me green beans and make me sing "She'll be coming round the mountain" forty times. Five weeks until spring break! Only four more Monday's. It'll go by quickly....won't it?
My afternoon was spent doing lesson plans and helping out my teacher soulmate in her classroom. Followed by the soul-sucking, money draining trip to Walmart. I'll learn to budget one day, but I'm not a real grown up yet, so I don't have to worry about it legitimately for now.
Today's Pockets:
Walmart List: death to my wallet
Marbles: From a new classroom management technique I'm trying..yes another one
2 markers: needs no explanation
Mystery Friend name: another form of bribery
Jolly Rancher wrapper: I was starving
Paperclip: Make-shift knife...just kidding

Get in my pocket
Knjitsarjkncfyouffkbbvguujvvgtytsaaecf. Yeah, that was today in a nutshell.
Runaway nugget number 2 occurred today during naptime. Surprisingly, I'm faster than you think. Luckily there was someone outside at the same time and assisted me in his removal from my room.
I spent the entire day thinking that this is what it's like when your bad Karma comes back around. All those mean things I said on MySpace and the judgement I've passed on strangers is all coming back to me in my career choice. I guess it was all my own doing!
I'm so tired, it literally took me like 40 minuets to write this blog.
Today's pockets:
Giant eraser: confiscated from a student who stole it from my confiscated pile of items
50 cent: I been hit with a few shells, now I walk with a limb.
Marker: I love the blue!
List: of stuff I needed at Walmart, that I didn't go to.

1st world problems
Remember how my week was going well and I was having a positive attitude? Throw that out the window! Today was like a day from Dangerous Minds...please Google that if you are unaware of its greatness!
Today was filled with nuggets shouting, throwing things, crawling all over the place and the best part...running away from me. I literally almost broke out into a run after a child through the courtyard, but I was afraid of what might occur if I did in fact capture him. I obviously need to work on being scary, because he was completely unfazed by my stank eye and flared nostrils.
I guess that is what I get for bragging about how I had two good days in a row. Back to reality of my crazy class! Today wasn't a total fail though. I got so much joy from one of my nuggets and his song lyrics. We were listening to Hot Cross Buns and he looks at me totally puzzled and said "What? It's suppose to be hot dog buns"! Oh, I died a little. It was so great!
And I even got to spend my afternoon/night with my teacher soulmate, which obviously made my day better. The 2 for 1 special at Chili's didn't hurt either! Want to know what happens after four beers and trip to Big Lots? 6 movies, 4 pairs of socks, 2 books and a 30 dollar bill! Totally worth it! Why didn't I go into journalism? How great would it be to be a movie or book critic?! Oh the life!
The absolute highlight of my day was when I arrived home and was able to take off my pants. Is there any greater feeling? I think not! What kind of weird society do we live in that requires them anyhow? Disgusting! But I guess without them, I wouldn't have pockets..and you seven wouldn't have this blog!

100 down
I have survived 100 days of Kindergarten. My first year of teaching is more than half way done! 65 more days until I'm a veteran! I mean, this year has practically been a war. War with myself, my nuggets, my life choices..and so on.
Today wasn't as chaotic as I anticipated. Anticipate, I need to share a story about anticipation. Circa 1998, Lockport Biddy Basketball tournament, getting yelled at by my father "anticipate the pass" repeatedly. At first I did as any good player would do, ignore the shouts from the coach, but after a while it was getting to be too much. As boldly as I could, I turned sideways while running down the court and shouted back "I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!" What a beautiful moment in my life!
Oh yeah, I was talking about Kindergarten. Our 100th day was fun! I loved all the kids shirts and how mine cut my arms in every direction. Pipe cleaners, they are no joke!
I had one of my "active" nuggets pin up to blue today, it was like an out of body experience! I was so pumped, until he threw food at lunch and then punched someone else.
I find myself saying "tomorrow is already Wednesday" instead of "tomorrow is only Wednesday" so I'm hoping my attitude remains! Bring it on hump day!
I didn't take a picture of my pockets, hit enjoy this picture of my shirt!

Owwww Charlee
Oh hey Monday, look at you, all acting like a Friday for me! My nuggets must have had a holiday hangover as well because they weren't totally insane.
I think they were a little shocked at how I had rearranged my room. Their curiosity might have held their tongues. I think the new set up worked well for today. It was a little like starting the year over again, which I really wish I could do!
I'm hoping the rest of the week goes as well as today. I'm excited for tomorrow, it's our 100th day! We have lots of activities planned for the nuggets and its gonna be a good day! I feel it!
I closed out the day by welcoming a new busy bee to our school family, Charlee! She's the newest addition to my classroom neighbor's family! Already love her so much! Babies totally amaze me and freak me out just a little bit! No doubt they are beautiful and a wonder, but it's insane to think of life starting out that small. Though Charlee is breath-taking, there is no baby fever for this chick! I'm all about other people populating the earth! 25
Nuggets is enough children for me!
Today's pockets:
Stickers
Mardi Gras bead: had to confiscate it, but was secretly pumped about it
Trash

Holiday Hangover
The last day of a holiday, such a cruel day. You try your hardest to make it last longer than possible, but it usually goes faster than you thought possible. I did have an eventful break...kinda.
It started off in true Mardi Gras tradition, spending the night in Lockport, watching Steel Magnolias, preparing for the greatest day of the year - THE LOCKPORT PARADE! May I say that The Lockport Parade was amazing?! I never had any doubt about it, but it always surpasses my expectations! It was a beautiful day! In true Amanda fashion I was sleeping by 5:30, but this year I decided to take my nap at my teacher soulmate's and I overslept a little, by like four hours! Oops!
Something tragic happened: our float members voted to pull our float from the parade due to the weather. I was so sad I can't even explain it. It worked out though, because I ended up getting sick Monday night/Tuesday. I have a Mardi Gras plague or I go too hard for the Lockport Parade, one or the other. So I went to Urgent Care, got two shots and felt like a champion by Wednesday. Which I spent rearranging my classroom with the hopes that my nuggets will be in such shock that they change their behavior....positively!
The rest of the week was spent in one of the happiest places on Earth....Grand Isle. I literally laid around and did nothing! It was absolutely wonderful! Read a book, napped a lot, ate too much and didn't drink enough! I forced myself to get some school work done and now I'm glad because my Sunday night can be spent watching movies and Facebook stalking...don't act like you're above it!
I won't lie, I'm a little blue about having to return to the real world tomorrow, but I'll be one day closer to summer! Cheers to summer and here is to hoping your holiday hangover isn't too bad!

One more day
Thursday, looks like a Friday, acts like a Monday. This week is dragging by so slowly I want to pull a Britney and beat people with an umbrella.
I did get good news: I didn't fail my observation! Wahoooo! But my nuggets were atrocious, which is the norm this week! Seven more hours! Then onward to the greatest day of the year!!!!!!
Tonight was full of preparation, Jell-O shots. 375 should do the trick, even made some with wine! Magic or tragic, either way we tried!
Today's pockets:
Money money moneyyy: people paying me back
Tickets: Pshhhh
Eraser: swiped from a kid
The letter h: not the letter of the week.

Crawl-into a hole and hide-fish
So the big day, the formal observation. The one day that I get judged on or lesson. Lets talk about how well that went.
Yeah, my observation started 45 minuets later than scheduled so my threats and promises of bribes had worn off.
I won't lie, I went into today like a cowboy with a brand and came out as a branded cow. I was confident that this observation would go well, whattttt a misconception!
Top five worst lessons of my life, true story! I had daydreams that I would forget how to act, well my children had that happen to them. A sudden whoosh of amnesia hit all of my nuggets and made them forget anything I ever told them.
So glad that my day ended with crawfish, good friends and beer. Nea wants me to explain the game ride the rocket, but I don't know how to!
Two more days. Glorious!!!! I told a picture of what is in my pocket, but I don't feel like the upload. Sorry seven! Loves you.

Twas the night before the formal observation...
It has to be said that going to the Lockport Carnival Den was so exciting! Seriously, you would have thought I was a five year old! It also raised my excitement for Saturday, like I needed that! My nuggets did really well for being on a float while The Wobble played fourteen times.
I stayed at school until 7:00 tonight, cleaning, practicing my lesson for tomorrow, getting things together and whatnot. Even though I was there so late that walking to my car scared me a little, I still have so much to do! How is that even possible? I scratched off a few of my things from the to-do list burning a hole in my pocket. Edited lesson plans, paid bills, did a powerpoint and watched Betty White's 2nd annual 90th Birthday Special.
I still have a few things left to do but I'm not feeling overwhelmed or vomitty.(That is totally a word) I've gone over my plan a million times, I practiced and I know how to subtract so I think I'll be okay. I've got my family saying Novenos, you faithful seven sending me good vibrations, my teacher staff pulling for me and my own self confidence! Hopefully I feel this way tomorrow morning!
Today's pockets:
To do list: can't wait until it's all crossed out
Stickers: confiscated from a nugget who stole them from me

Lundi
I had an okay day! It happened, hooray!! It gives me hope for the next four days! Today was even a little productive. I got my lesson plan checked over by boss lady #2 for my observation, did progress reports, printed everything out for my formal, went to Wal-Mart, and now I'm watching safety video that's not due until next week. After 11:00 Wednesday I want to be done with anything school related and ready to deal with all things Mardi Gras related!
Speaking of Mardi Gras, tomorrow is our class trip to the Lockport Carnival Den. I don't think you can fully understand my excitement about this adventure! It's a like a sneak peek into my favorite day of the year, The Lockport Parade! Seriously, tis the day I look forward to all 364 other days of the year. Judge me if you must, but know that I do not care! While at the Wal-Mart a bought a pretty mask for me to hide from my nuggets on this day!
A surprise walk through observation almost made my Linda Blair vomit all over my room today, but it wasn't too bad. It made me really really really nervous about Wednesday though. I'm hoping I can just push down the urge to spew for an hour, and that the nuggets are so determined to get the sunglasses I purchased as a bribe they behave. It's horrifying to think that I'm being evaluated on my entire job based off of one lesson, one day, for one hour. Lets change the subject!
Mardi Gras day, New Orleans truck parade after Rex's, float 11 (I could totally be wrong) Peace, Love and Mardi Gras, drivers side - either last family in the back, or second family in the front. Holler at ya girl, literally! Maybe even a poster! Jamie and Andrea (I'm not sure if you read this, but you should) I shall bring you sausage biscuits if we're close like we were 2 years ago! You're welcome! =)
I don't have any food today, but I do have other treasures in my pockets.
Today's pocket's:
Walmart List: classic
Answers to safety video: such a cheat
Coins: randomly found while cleaning up my classroom
Paper fringe: from my to do list that is growing slightly smaller
Eraser cap: from the mouth of a nugget
Morning Blog
I should probably have a morning jog instead, but that's a whole other story.
This is the week of my formal observation, so I'm asking you faithful seven to start sending prayers to observation Jesus. Let it be known, there is a Jesus for everything: pulling out of my busy street Jesus, parking Jesus, football Jesus, math final Jesus. I'm not like an Egyptian or anything, my family is just weird!
I'm going into this week with a positive attitude. It's not a countdown to the weekend this week, it's just gonna go by fast because its going so well!
