Not so manic Monday

It happened. Reality actually showed up, and before my alarm went off! I feel like there are fewer things in life more annoying than waking up before your alarm. Why would your own body betray you like that! By 5:50 I could no longer contain the contents of my bladder, so I gave into Mother Nature and rose from my sleeping chambers.
My first day back was almost pleasant. This may be due to the fact that half of my class was still asleep upon their arrival into my classroom. I did change a few routines around that seemed to cut down a lot of the hectic actions of my beloved bunch of nuggets.
A special guest made an appearance in my classroom, elf on the shelf! By popular vote he was named Magic Jacket. I couldn't even make this up, Magic Jacket. The kids seem to be semi-phased by him.
I also got new glasses today, which were much needed. My other ones were so scratched, you would have assumed that I owned a feline of some sort. Maybe now I'll see everything in a whole new way!
